Issues That Must Be Addressed to Maintain a Great and Sovereign U.S.
The following is my answer to a good friend who asked me in the face of the impending presidential elections and ongoing battle between conservatives and liberals to tell him what I see as the most pressing issue that must be addressed to preserve a great, prosperous, and free United States:
1. Addressing threats to our national security and sovereignty as they really are - without watered-down political correctness crap that's destroying our country. That of course especially includes Islamic-fascist terrorism and their goals plus Iran and other countries that want to diminish or destroy America and our western culture. The cancer within and abroad that is also destroying the United States as we know it are those who are conspiring to control the world's riches and power above "Country, Mother, Chevrolet, and Apple Pie!". We must bring both under control!
2. "Speak softly and carry a big stick when it comes to our military, but as long as human nature reigns inherently warring as history bares out, it must remain the best in the world and ready to mobilize if peaceful means fail to work.
3. Get religion out of politics or at least have "religious debates between the factions" of pro-religion in public and those who think otherwise. I guarantee it will never happen because most religion is based on myth and hear-say that is historically and scientifically disputable; and "people of faith" don't want to hear anything that challenges their cherished beliefs and spiritual security blanket.
Note: I’m not saying that there isn’t truth and spiritual power within each religion and their holly books that uplifts mind, body, and soul through prayer, meditation, or contemplation that focuses ones attention on the divine universal power or creator to which all religions ultimately call upon as God in times of need. The main dividing lines between most religions is the belief or disbelief in reincarnation and lines of masters, saviors, or prophets.
My point is to stress that no one religion has a patent on continuation of souls' spiritual development including those that do not hold to the same holy book, savior, master, or prophet as they do. Many religions teach that God has many manifestations of itself stationed as overseers or Lords of the mansions within His fathomless house on various planes of existence from physical worlds to levels within the spiritual realms.
Is it not conceivable that hell may not be an eternal form of horrible suffering and punishment of souls but rather be levels of temporal punishment and retraining of souls with every soul eventually rising above the morass of all that is considered evil in the flesh?
I have witnessed the power of Christian prayer just as Jesus stated would occur when two or more believers join together in prayer; I have seen horrible pain be prayed away and replaced with peace and wellbeing and I have personally been spared severe injury or death by my faith in a supreme God as taught in a popular new age religion that evolved from ancient spiritual pathways taught in Tibet and elsewhere.
Finally, I might add that anything spoken or otherwise revealed by God to a human being that is repeated or written down is contaminated and eludes total truth.
4. Decriminalize all illegal substances and drugs and let nature deal with those stupid enough to ingest them. Such will take the profit out of them; curb drug-related crime and save money that is used to finance drug-busting cops. The savings and redirection of resources and our law enforcement agencies could be better used for extensive drug use education and general law enforcement. Let’s face it; the vast majority of violent crimes committed in America are drug-related.
Note: decriminalization does NOT mean that law enforcement officers will discontinue vigorous pursuit and arrest of anyone providing drugs to minors and all laws relevant to alcoholic beverages and tobacco would be applied to decrimialized drugs.
5. Make prison a living hell with inmates being forced to work to sustain their meager existence; possibly outsource murders, rapists and other career criminals to North Vietnam or China. Law abiding people are paying the bill for millions of lifers that still operate criminal gangs in and outside of their prisons. I'd even consider putting all those that should have been given the death penalty on several thousand acres of land in the middle of the country somewhere, fence it, mine it, use drones, shoot-to-kill perimeter guards, whatever it takes to keep them corralled and let them fend for themselves; kind of like the movie "Escape from New York"! Why should hard working, law abiding citizens, support such people at the cost of $30,000 or more EACH per year?
6. If illegal drugs remain illegal then the U.S. should declare war on the sources in countries where it is propagated: The governments of countries exporting drugs should be forced to stop it through whatever means makes it too expensive for them to resist including economic sanctions, blockades, and / or military intervention. Agent Orange should be sprayed from aircraft to destroy the drug crops.
7. The U.S. should send a strong message to the UN declaring that the US will NEVER subjugate our constitution, armed services, or judicial system to any “world body” or “world court"! The UN is comprised of self-serving, corrupt, spineless elitist world-class bureaucrats that talk & talk but accomplish little or nothing that best serves the interests of the United States.
Maybe France or Germany should begin footing the bill to house the UN! The World Court also does not serve the spirit and interests of the United States.
8. Our schools do not foster respect for authority, capitalism, or patriotism. They have become a liberal medium that misinforms them about their heritage and brainwashes them with leftist propaganda; it must change if America the Great is to survive as such.
I am NOT an atheist, however, unlike Christian activists, I don't think that religion has any place in our schools or government and that precludes observance of or teaching of any specific or secular religion in state sponsored "government" schools; that's a job for their parents and clergy. However, I would agree to an unbiased course being taught about the origins of and historically documented comparative studies of all religions with the course focusing on how organized religions have and continue to influence world-wide politics. Yah- right - never happen! I get really disgusted when anyone says that this or that holy book was written without error by God! The statement itself is a thoughtless suspension of modern science, reason, and logic since every written word was by the hands of men, many who thought the world was flat and that the sun revolves around the earth!
Schools are failing to foster appreciation of basic civil and criminal behavior that can't be accomplished without rules and a conservative uniform dress code.
We could learn much from the Japanese: I was stationed in Japan for three years and observed the conduct and behavior of Japanese students: They wear uniforms, they are neat and tidy, they behave like young ladies and gentlemen, and they are respectful of their parents and teachers. Parents and teachers don't spare the rod either. Minors in Japan are not over indulged, do not eat unhealthy foods, and don’t need a host of mind-altering prescription drugs to function in and tolerate life because physical education and participation in martial arts and sports is mandatory.
Monday through Friday they go to school from 7 AM - 4 or 5 PM; the last two hours are for physical education and exercise. They also go to school 7 AM - Noon on Saturdays and they don't have time to get in trouble! The crime rate in Japan is non-existent compared to the U.S. AND, it’s not because they don’t have 2nd Amendment rights. If they had readily available guns, they wouldn’t bring them to school.
Prior to the decline of patriotism and pride in America that was apparent in the first sixty years of the 20th century, the American education system was superior in its approach to education: I remember growing up in that system that worked well teaching patriotism, loyalty, respect for parents and authority all while teaching students the purpose of school and giving them the knowledge and tools to successfully begin a career in industry using trade skills, business, homemaking & parenting, or professional vocations according to each students abilities and aspirations.
9. Declare English as our national Language and close our borders and enforce our immigration laws. Revise the fourteenth amendment to abolish the "anchor baby" loophole in our immigration policies. Use every resource including all levels of law enforcement, national guard units, bank records, employment records, social security operations, and immigration authorities to arrest and dispense all illegal's according to the following categories:
(Category #1): those gainfully employed for more than three years that came into the country legally but who's visas have expired - do a background investigation revealing no criminal activity in the United States, fingerprint them and collect DNA as a condition of being properly documented providing that they fulfill normal immigration procedures during the next five years including learning to read, write, and speak English.
(Category #2): deport all those whose background investigation discloses a criminal or other situation that would make the person an "undesirable" citizen that would probably become a burden to U.S. society or enemy of the U.S.
(Category #3): deport all illegal’s who possess fraudulent identification credentials and / or have obtained false Social Security numbers and / or have failed to pay taxes.
(Category #4: deport all those who have entered the U.S. illegally after January 1, 2007 but allow them to re-apply for legal entrance into the U.S. at a later date. Second illegal entry offenders should never be allowed to remain in the U.S.
(Category #5): Allow those to stay who have entered the U.S. illegally but do not have a criminal record and who's current employment by U.S. business is declared on an individual verifiable basis to be critical to U.S. commerce providing they submit to the same criteria as those that fall into Category #1 with the exception of having entered the U.S. after January 1, 2007. Those who have been operating a small business who haven't obtained required State, County, City permits or, if required, filed for a fictitious business name or who have not paid taxes must make tax payments restitution for back taxes over a reasonably manageable period of time without penalties or interest and secure the proper documentation. Deport those who do not do so within 90 days.
General conditions that must apply to all those who are allowed to remain in the U.S.: They will be punished accordingly and deported if they commit a felony prior to becoming a citizen, fail to remain self-supporting or dependent of a self supporting person for more than a period of six months with certain exceptional conditions, and / or if they aid any illegal's to remain hidden from the authorities or help them gain illegal access into the U.S.
Finally, the Mexican government that has been providing training, encouraging, and aiding its citizens to enter the U.S. illegally, should be billed for all those currently or that will be incarcerated in a U.S. penal institution for committing a felony in the United States.
There are others, but the above are good for starters!
